What are eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are made of a synthetic fiber called PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) and can be used on natural lashes to create an extension or voluminous effect. Oh My Lash, the eyelash extensions wholesaler, offers the largest range of products in the market and provides a wide selection of different lengths, curls, and colors.

How do you apply eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are applied using 2 tweezers and a special adhesive suitable for use near the eyes. The adhesive has different drying times, and the choice of adhesive depends on the humidity and temperature in the room, as well as your level of experience as an eyelash stylist.

A must-have for you as an eyelash stylist is our speed-up solution. The humidity in the salon may be too low, causing the adhesive to dry too slowly. In such cases, use the speed-up solution to accelerate the curing process of the lash adhesive. Meanwhile, you can continue with the treatment.

How do you remove eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are applied using lash adhesive, and depending on the type of adhesive, they can be set within seconds. It is possible to change or remove eyelash extensions by using a gel remover to effortlessly remove them.

There are two different methods for removing extensions. Firstly, you can use our strawberry cream remover. If you want to remove the entire set of eyelash extensions, then the Let’s break up gel remover is recommended.

If you want to remove an individual eyelash extension because it has grown out, you can use the banana peel technique. Apply a slight pressure with tweezers on the adhesive area, and then gently separate the extension from the natural lash.

Please note that it’s important to exercise caution and be gentle when removing eyelash extensions to avoid any discomfort or damage to the natural lashes. If you’re unsure or uncomfortable performing the removal yourself, it’s best to consult a professional eyelash technician for assistance.

How do you extend the lifespan of eyelash extensions?

Proper aftercare of eyelash extensions is crucial, and as a stylist, you can contribute to extending the lifespan of your client’s eyelash extensions. How?

Ensure that you always use a cleanser/primer to thoroughly clean the natural lashes and extensions before starting the treatment. We offer two different types, one with alcohol like Sweet Kiss or Love Potion, and two without alcohol like Mrs. Always Right or Instant Crush. The alcohol content is minimal, but it may be necessary for effective degreasing in some cases. It’s convenient to have both products in the salon.

Once you have finished applying the extensions, always check the set for any stickies or lashes sticking together. This prevents discomfort to the eyes, which can lead the client to touch or rub their eyes. As an after-treatment step, you can use our Stuck on You super bonder. It encapsulates the adhesive fumes and allows the adhesive to cure flexibly, increasing lash retention by up to 30%.

Always advise your client to use a Be Lovely Lash Shampoo. This helps to keep the eyes clean and nourished, while also promoting better retention of the eyelash extensions. We recommend using the designated cleansing brush for this purpose. We offer three types: the Rhinestone brush, the OML Foam Brush, or the Eyelash Cleansing Brush.

When should you not apply eyelash extensions?

It is not advisable to apply eyelash extensions in the following situations. If a client has an allergy to acrylates, carbon, or very sensitive eyes. If a client has alopecia or is undergoing chemotherapy. In these cases, the hair follicles are too weak, and applying extensions can cause damage. In such cases, it is recommended to use the Mrs. Lash Lift PRO growth serum. This can also be combined with the 3D Gold filler mascara.

What are mink eyelash extensions?

The best way to explain this is by highlighting the differences between synthetic (mink) lashes and Silk Silk Eyelash Extensions. Here we go!

Silk Eyelash Extensions are more flexible and softer than Mink Eyelash Extensions, and they are finished with a very soft silk coating. The clear difference between Mink and Silk Lashes is their flexibility. The hairs of Mink Eyelash Extensions are firmer compared to Silk Silk Eyelash Extensions. Silk Lashes move along with natural eyelashes. Both qualities are great to work with and deliver a stunning end result.

Mink Eyelash Extensions are handmade from Korean PBT fibers. PBT fiber is a high-quality synthetic material. The difference between Mink Eyelash Extensions and regular synthetic lashes lies in the coating used on them. Mink lashes are finished with a Faux Mink Coating.
